Don't forget the Instructional Reunion this weekend. We meet at the front gates at 7:45 and, for those interested, some team members meet at the Pancake Station at 6:30. Remember this important weekend gives the new Kairos graduates a foundation for finding and participating in a prayer and share group.

Extravagant...

Wow! What an amazing weekend. God showed up in a mighty way at the Neal Unit this weekend and many lives were changed. God's message was delivered loud and clear to 42 men in white, and seven new Christian communities were born as a part of the larger Kairos Inside community. We serve a God who is extravagant in how he shows his love to us and that demonstration of His almighty grace was extremely powerful to all of the men. The powerful message of salvation, unsolicited agape love, and Christian community combined once again to tear down fortress walls, begin the healing process, and to introduce the lost to the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. The outside team delivered a flawless presentation of God's mercy and abundant grace by preparing and delivering eight meals for ~80 participants inside the unit...not to mention 24X7 prayer coverage. What a blessing to all involved.

Team Meeting #4

posted Mar 26, 2011, 6:16 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Mar 26, 2011, 6:16 PM by Seth Trujillo ]

Dear Kairos Brothers and Sisters,

Wow!!! Time is close at hand and our last meeting before the big weekend is this coming Friday April,1st. I would like to share something with you today that will hopefully be an encouragement to you before we head into the Kairos weekend.

We talk much about the Four L's in Kairos. They are the keys to our ministry of affirmation. To show the men who feel unloved and unwanted, that "You are worthwhile. I affirm your worthiness. I love you."

I would like for us to focus on this passage John 15:1-17, now and throughout the weekend. Let this be our prayer for one another. I love this passage where it talks about "I am the vine and you are the branches..."

As we prepare to go into the prison, we must focus on our connectedness to the love that Christ has brought to us and our dependence upon that Love. That is the vine, and we must remember our role as branches, as the arms and legs, the human forms, that put God's love in action, as we "Listen, listen,Love, love."

As we begin to reach out and actually come into contact with those whom God will send to be with us for the weekend, we must not depend on our own strength to effect a change in their lives. This is the work of the Holy Spirit!

Our job is really simple. Our job is to simply proclaim Christ's presence and influence in our own lives to the residents and to love the residents wherever they are.

"...for you can do nothing without me."

If we remain firmly rooted in the vine, we "will bear much fruit."

I love you all and I have been praying for each one of you. God has put together an incredible team and it is an honor to serve with each one of you.

Now for a little house keeping. This will be our last meeting and we will have many things to do.

I will need the remaining men giving talks to be ready to present them Friday evening.

Hopefully, you have finished your letter's by now or you are very close to being finished. Please don't wait until the last minute. You will need your rest. After Thursday we will know the men who will be on the weekend.Sometimes we need to correct the spelling of their names. So, we will be able to address the letter's Friday night after the team meeting.

Tommy Tucker will be set up in the back if you still need to pay for the weekend. God has really blessed us over the past few months. God is so good!!!

Our meal will be provided by Tracy and Lisa Byrd. They are cooking for us to help raise money for our Consecration Meal we will enjoy together Thursday evening. Remember your spouses are welcomed to join us for dinner. I will have a sign up sheet on Friday if you haven't already done so. So give generously.

I want to thank you for supporting our Kairos Outside Ministry. You were very generous and they really appreciated your giving hearts.

Childcare will be provided by reservation only. Please let me know by Tuesday evening if you will be needing childcare. I will need their names and ages ASAP.

I know each one of you are as exited as I am for Neal #26. Keep on praying!!!

I love you!!!

Blessings,
Guy

posted Mar 7, 2011, 2:58 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Mar 7, 2011, 2:59 PM by Seth Trujillo ]

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I failed to mention 4 important items in my last email to you.

1. Childcare - I will need a head count by noon Wednesday, no later. I need to submit the number of children to our Children's Pastor.
For security purposes because of  the children the front doors will be locked at 6:30pm. So please try to be on time.
There isn't any cellphone service down in the basement :)

2. Dinner will be provided by the Kaiors Outside (Donations Accepted for their Ministry). These ladies work very hard and provide such
yummy meals for us. Let's be sure and show our appreciation.

3. Consecration Meal - Thursday evening April 7th we will be having the Consecration Meal back at the DeFalco Retreat   Center. You and your spouse are invited, even if your spouse isn't working the weekend,we would love to have them come. Also, the older teenagers working with the outside team are invited as well. This is a time that the team can come together and break bread as we prepare ourselves to be used by God. I will have a sign up sheet at the meeting on Friday. If you know you won't be attending the meeting this Friday, please email me the number in your party.

4. To the men giving talks. Please bring your Talk Evaluation Forms. The forms are in the folder I gave to you with your talk.

Blessings,

Guy Scoggin

Team Meeting #3

posted Mar 5, 2011, 5:29 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Mar 5, 2011, 5:30 PM by Seth Trujillo ]

Wow! I can't believe that our next meeting is already here and Kairos Neal 26 is only 33 days away. I hope you are getting excited. I am looking forward to the time we can share and serve together. You are all so very special and such a blessing to Tammi and I.

As we prepare to go into the mission field at the Neal Unit I would like to share a scripture with you that has inspired me.

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Today, remember that you are “the light of the world.” People all around us are living in darkness, but we have what they need.   As that old Sunday School songs goes:

Hide it under a bushel? No!
I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.

Let us make sure our light shines. Let's join together as we fulfill the Great Commission and beam the light even more brightly to impact lives for Christ. I love you all and I am praying for each one of you.

Father, shine Your light through me. Help me to be a bold witness. I commit my resources to You. Use me to impact people for the Gospel. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Now for some house keeping:

* Childcare will be provided, I will need a head count ASAP so please RSVP to me.

* Dinner at 5:30pm (The children are welcome to join us for dinner)

* Meeting begins promptly at 6:00pm

* Men please bring your talks if you have then ready. We will be reviewing them.

I am looking forward to seeing you all on Friday. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Blessings,

Guy
