Agape with CHANGES Effective This Walk

posted Mar 25, 2015, 5:06 PM by Seth Trujillo

From the Kairos Program Manual, (p III-33):
"The Kairos Weekend is surrounded by Agape--the unconditional love of Christ, delivered by the people of Christ.
...Agape as used in Kairos is the offering of unconditional love to another person with no expectation
        of receiving anything in return..."
(p III-34):
"...An invisible expression of this Agape love is intercessory prayer offered by the Team and the larger Christian Community toward Participants on a Kairos weekend...
...Visible signs and expression of Agape love come to Kairos in the form of prayer commitments, letters, posters, place-mats, food, cookies, donations, and other sacrificial acts of kindness and gentleness..."

Remember your team donation for the purchase of food, cookies, and other consumables. The Support/Agape/De Falco team must confirm the cookie order of $2,500, purchase food/consumables for $3,500(approximately) , and be funded to pay the De Falco facility rental of almost $5,000 in the next few days. BelMar Bakery can't make more than a thousand-dozen cookies overnight, and there's no time to shop for ingredients for about a thousand food servings once the weekend begins. These things must be done in advance!

Remember family Posters(sheet-size, 8 1/2 x 11) to be presented during the You Are Not Alone talk on Friday. The family posters are new this time; they will replace the hand-print poster that has been done in the past. Inside and Support team members please bring (at least) one sheet with tracings (or paint/ink hand prints) of spouse/children/grandkids' hands with a scripture or word of encourage and their names and ages (kids' ages, of course!). No photographs, stickers or glitter.Turn in family posters Thursday evening or Friday morning of the weekend.

Remember to circulate your copy of the Prayer Vigil. If yours is complete, please bring it to the team meeting Saturday at the earliest and Thursday noonof the weekend at the latest for the Support/Agape/De Falco team to prepare the prayer chains.

Remember your 42 Letters (and 42 envelopes) for the participants.

Remember children's Posters(sheet-size, 8 1/2 x 11) from Sunday School, Awana, other children's groups. No stickers or glitter.

Wise men (and women!) have said, "God is in the details." Please attend to these details so that Kairos #34 will be surrounded by Agape!

Action Required

Good morning all,

I am adding one thing to the "few" list for the next meeting.  Be thinking

about the consecration meal on Thursday night.  I will have a sign-up sheet

to get a head count of who all will be attending.  If your spouse is not

working this time but wants to join us for dinner, please bring them.  If

you are working the weekend but cannot be there for dinner, I will need to

know that as well.  Everyone is welcome to have dinner together and we want

to be sure to have enough food.  Especially since we will not be eating

very much the rest of the weekend.

Blessings, Lisa

Kairos #34 Final Team Meeting

posted Mar 18, 2015, 4:48 PM by Seth Trujillo

Jeremiah 29:13   You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Kairos Family,
Jeremiah 29:13 is the Kairos Neal #34 verse for the weekend. This verse has always convicted me in my walk with God. It's as if God is telling me, Casey, if you want all that I have planned for you, you will have to commit with all of your heart. Between family, work and other activities I have always struggled to find the right balance in my walk with God. Brothers and sisters in Christ the weekend is less than one month away and we have one meeting left, March 28. My prayer for the team is that all that possibly can will arrange their schedules for this last team meeting. I feel God has brought together a very strong and passionate team to do His will, as we share Christ with the 42 men in white. It is such an overwhelming honor and blessing to serve alongside each and everyone of you!

What: Last Team Meeting Before the Kairos Neal #34 Weekend

Where: Hillside South - 6901 South Bell

A Few Things

1. Closing Ceremony - With less than one month left before the weekend and Chap needing the names and last four digits of
their drivers license two weeks prior I once again challenge all to invite ONE person and either email me or bring to the last
   meeting their information.

2. DeFalco: If you are planning on staying at DeFalco for the weekend I will be needing that information also. I would encourage you to invite your spouse
as we can use the additional help and fellowship.

3Team Donations: We would appreciate all that can to bring your donations to the next meeting.

4. Agape42 LETTERS. Also Childrens Agape ( colored drawings, hand prints, Bible verses, first names only ) This has such an impact on the 42 men.

5. Prayer Chain: Please contact Patricia Wright with all names of anyone willing to pray during our weekend. thewrights@suddenlink.net

Brothers and sisters I know this is quite alot of items and needs, but I know our call is worth the effort and time as we get to experience the amazing power of God in the lives of these men in white.

God Bless,

Casey Cameron

Meeting this Thursday

posted Mar 2, 2015, 3:09 PM by Seth Trujillo

Kairos Family;

With the cancellation of the last meeting (Panhandle Weather!!!) I feel called to have a meeting this Thursday, March 5, at 7:00 p.m., located at First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Harrison downtown. We will have a short devotional, prayer and share, then break up to review talks. You will need to enter on the south side of main building and enter through the doors under the drive through. There is parking on south side. As everyone knows the talks are a very important part of our weekend and I would encourage all that can to attend to help preview the talks. Several men have volunteered to preview their talks.
I am sorry for such short notice, however I know the task God has layed out before us is well worth the effort of our team as we have the opportunity to experience and watch the power of God in the lives of the 42 men in white. It truly is a honor and blessing to serve alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ.

God Bless,
Casey Cameron

What: Meeting

Where: First Pres. Downtown - 1100 HarrisonEnter and park on south side of main building

I have moved the last meeting, April 4, up to March 28 as I just realized April 4 is on Easter weekend. My bad!!

Agape Letters

posted Mar 1, 2015, 1:27 PM by Seth Trujillo

Kairos Kin,

Our April Kairos weekend is nearer than it appears, only 46 days from March 1st! Remember the 42 handwritten letters you need for the 42 pilgrims!

Worn down and tired is the Inside team guy who waits until the weekend to write his letters at De Falco! Likely his hand will cramp, and his pen may fail in the wee hours Saturday AM!

Distressed and distracted is the De Falco team person who waits until the weekend to write their letters! They are unavailable to help bag the cookies and slice and dice and chop.

Blessed is the team who arrives at De Falco with letters (and envelopes!) ready for addressing! They shall enjoy early bedtimes and the opportunity to be fully attentive during talks, chapel, and sharing times at the Neal Unit and the opportunity to be fully engaged in the devotional and preparation activities at De Falco!

If you start Sunday, March 1, you could write one letter each day, take Easter weekend off, and be finished on Wednesday before Kairos starts!

We encourage you to pray before each letter for the Holy Spirit's guidance on what that man in white needs to read. The Spirit of God knows exactly who that letter will end up with. He knows that man in white's life story, heart, and His plans for the man's future. Trust in our God and write to that man in white what the Spirit places on your heart and mind.

Burger Fundraiser and Closing Service

posted Mar 1, 2015, 1:16 PM by Seth Trujillo

We had a good turn out tonight at Blue Sky! Loved seeing people supporting the cause that haven't served on a Kairos weekend yet. We would love to share more with you and welcome you into this awesome ministry!

There is a closing ceremony on the upcoming Kairos in April on that Sunday afternoon.
Maybe you want/need to see how much this ministry ministers to the residents? Kairos is a year round ministry. Two major weekends per year, but every month, there is follow up and continuing discipleship.

Let us know if you would like to attend the closing service and we can get you information/rules plus the form you need to fill out to be approved to go in!
Blessings and thanks to all who came out tonight!

Next month will be Taste of Thai or Beef O Brady's. We'll let you know!
