Feb 10 Kairos Neal Unit Team Meeting #2 of 5

posted Feb 7, 2018, 7:01 PM by Seth Trujillo

Reminder, our next team meeting is at this Saturday (Feb 10) at Hillside Christian Church on Soncy in Room 405 from 8 AM to 12 with Lunch from noon to 1 PM.  I will provide coffee and pastries starting at 7:30 AM.  Kairos Outside will be there to share info about their ministry and serve us lunch around noon.  This is a primary fundraising activity of theirs and I ask you to consider staying for it and making a donation.  I will send the menu soon.

During the meeting, we will hear the Word, praise the Lord with our Music team, and spend some time in a spiritual exercise on God's faithfulness.  He shows me every day how faithful He is and I am blessed by His church in this ministry at every turn.  I strive to be as faithful to Him as He is to me.

The team is really taking shape, and roles are starting to fill.  If you have any special requests for me on your role in this ministry that I am unaware of please let me know soon.  We will spend some time at this meeting talking about the inside experience for new team members and the Support team will have its first meeting.  Shari will play a large part in helping me get the Support team organized and we will rely on others experience to help us with the preparation during these meetings.  Be thinking of ways you can help us gather prayer warrior commitments and general Agape so we have this weekend covered in prayer and acts of love.

Attached is some helpful team information and I will update this document as I learn more.  It's in Word so if you have trouble opening it let me know.  Page 2 has the TDCJ training information for the men who want to be able to serve inside.  I encourage those interested to call and make sure you are qualified to enter the prison if you wish to be on the inside team.  There are two training sessions before this weekend, there is one on March 29 at 10 AM at Bishop De Falco Retreat Center and the last one is the first day of our weekend, April 12 - currently scheduled at 9 AM at the NEAL UNIT.  We will ask if we can move ours to the retreat center also.

Also attached is the team application for those that have not completed one yet and would like to look over it before the next meeting.
I pray you have a good week and that we can spend time together on Saturday.  Prayers are being answered and its time to prepare for His work!

Kairos 39 Clergy Recruiting

posted Feb 7, 2018, 6:57 PM by Seth Trujillo

I would ask each of you to ask your church pastors to please attend the closing on Sunday, April 15th around 2 PM if they have not already attended.  That is our best recruiting tool, and I would love your minister to share this experience with you.  If they accept let me know and I will prioritize them on the list.  I will need their driver's license name and last 4 of their DL numbers.

If we don't ask, who will?

God Bless you, thank you for your service.  I look forward to our next meeting.

Kairos BBQ

Please forward this to family and friends that you love and want to be blessed.  Share the flyer on social media. It is also in a link at the bottom of this page.
Kairos BBQ 12-16 6pm

Let's join together to pray for the upcoming Kairos weekend, fellowship over some BBQ, and invite friends and family to join us in this wonderful outreach project.  This ministry is special as it was singled out by our Lord as something good to do, and there are opportunities for everyone to get to serve - including as families.  We should not keep all of these blessings to ourselves.

Please join Shari and me on Saturday, December 16 at 6 pm in room 405 at Hillside Christian Church West Campus at 6100 Soncy to learn more about this ministry and see if you are led to serve in some capacity.  Even if this upcoming weekend is not the right time for you, there will be many more opportunities to serve - and there is a role for everyone.  We need prayer warriors, cookie bakers, agape gatherers, weekend cooks, dishwashers, devotional leaders, and men to share the love of Christ with the incarcerated.

We especially need clergy, a music leader, and both inside and outside team members.  Families can serve together.

Below are the dates of the team meetings.  All meetings will be in room 405 at Hillside Christian Church.  We will have an agenda for each meeting, and will use the time for training, devotionals, praise worship (as able), and preparation for the weekend.  My goal is to complete as much prep work as possible during these sessions.  We have an unusually short period of time before the next Kairos weekend so the meetings are a little closer together than usual.   I have our room reserved until 1 each Saturday but we will leave when completed each week.  If we arrive on time and ready to work as a group we should be able to leave early.

Dec 16.   6 pm  Informational, informal BBQ dinner, and Weekend #39 kickoff. Families are welcome to attend. [RSVP for Dinner]
Jan 27.  8 to 1 meeting

April 12 - 15 Kairos Neal Unit #39

We have the Bishop Defalco Retreat Center near the institution reserved for those that would like to stay near the unit during the weekend.

Attached is a flyer you can forward or share on social media, or include in your church's communications.  Being able to serve is a real blessing and being able to serve the Lord is an honor.

Thanks for your consideration.   Call me with any questions.

Now let's spread the Good News.

Matthew 25 - 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Kairos Neal Unit #39 - April 12 - 15 General information

posted Nov 25, 2017, 12:22 PM by Neal Advisory Council

Please pray for Shari and me for wisdom and patience, the men at the Neal unit, the Kairos ministry team, and for guidance on if and how you should be serving for the next weekend in April.

I am the Weekend Leader for Kairos Neal Unit #39 and am blessed to be a part of this ministry and nervous to do well for the men of Neal, for the team, and for our Lord.  He deserves my all.  Shari is my partner in life and is going to serve with me to organize our efforts.  If you are also led to serve in some capacity, please let me know (via either phone/email/text).  There is a role for everyone.  We need prayer warriors, cookie bakers, agape gatherers, weekend cooks, dishwashers, devotional leaders, and men to share the love of Christ with the incarcerated.

My most pressing request for you, for now, is that you help recruit new servants.  We need clergy and both inside and outside team members.  Some of our team members need a break, and more hands make lighter work.  Please ask your ministers to consider helping sometime in this ministry, and please also pray for us to find a worship leader for this weekend soon.

To help promote this ministry, we will have an informational dinner at Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo at Hillside and Soncy.  Communications will be sent soon on this you can use to invite people.

Please save these dates on your calendar.  All meetings will be in room 405 at Hillside Christian Church at 6100 Soncy.  We will have an agenda for each meeting, and will use the time for training, devotionals, praise worship (as able), and preparation for the weekend.  My goal is to complete as much prep work as possible during these sessions.  We have an unusually short period of time before the next weekend so the meetings are a little closer together than usual.   I have our room reserved until 1 each Saturday but we will leave when completed each week.  If we arrive on time and ready to work as a group we should be able to leave early.
